Meetups
"Often, we believe supporting parents means giving advice about what to do for your child. But most mothers don't need parenting 101, they desire authentic connections — ongoing gentleness and support — from others going through similar challenges."
MEETUPS
We know there are some common mood problems that affect moms and their partners during expectancy and after birth. We use a proven program to:
• provide a toolkit of coping strategies to maintain a healthy balance and manage stress
• provide ways to support your mood and your baby’s mood, and your baby’s healthy development
• provide strategies that include healthy behaviors, healthy thoughts, and positive social support for your family
New Mothers Meetup
Pregnant and expectant moms, new moms and babies under 9 months are welcome to join us for weekly peer support in a group setting. These meetings are free and open to the public, hosted by moms mentors and maternal mental health advocates. We use a six week education program to guide our meetings, allowing for plenty of time to socialize and support each other. Moms are welcome to drop in anytime during designated hours.
The education program will cover the following topics:
• pregnancy and infant/child development
• Ways to manage life stress, improve mood, and avoid mood problems
• Healthy interactions that help create a healthy reality for you and your baby
• Healthy, positive ways that we can think about babies and interact with them
• Using this group as support within and between meetings
